This line from the 1 Samuel 3 has always captured the attention of my heart. Samuel believes he’s hearing Eli’s voice when in fact it is God calling him. Samuel had every reason to believe that Eli was calling him. Eli called and spoke with him frequently. He knew Eli’s voice. But, like so many of us, Samuel was not familiar with the voice of God. Samuel learned quickly through Eli to listen and trust God’s voice in order to become familiar with it. We do this now through reading Scripture, reflections, prayer, prayer, nature, blogs, art. Oh God speaks what do we hear? I imagine it’s not what we’re expecting or in ways we’re not expecting.
The other day I had the opportunity to share a little bit of the story of “Twilight in the Bronx” with someone. This quilt is near and dear to my heart for so many reasons that I’ve shared on TerifiCreations. I listened, I heard, I acted and this quilt represents the beginning of a change in my quilting life. God is good.
Listen.
God bless!
