One definition of hope is "to look forward with reasonable confidence". "Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you" Luke 6:38 As quilters we understand … Continue reading Hope

Heart Rending
Joel 2: 12-18 Even now, says the LORD, return to me with your whole heart, with fasting, and weeping, and mourning; Rend your hearts, not your garments, and return to the LORD, your God. For gracious and merciful is he, slow to anger, rich in kindness, and relenting in punishment. Perhaps he will again relent … Continue reading Heart Rending
I’m going to stop saying that
or "Well, I didn't expect to get that out of it." There is a life long, ingrained habit that it's time to let go of, in order to do that new habits will need to be formed. I write to preserve the memory of life as it is sometimes beautiful, sometimes messy, always … Continue reading Remember…

Stories of great struggle, and triumphs great and small. The threads, as they must, change color, as people, and … Continue reading Fog
Quilting
Sometimes when the imagination stirs, there is a vision of, a practice of giving a talk on the complexity of quilt making, the depth, breadth, styles, community and individuality. The talk speaks of hand and machine work, as interchangeable and complementary to one another. That there is something in these different styles, and the variety … Continue reading Quilting
