Rejoice with me, please

The Parable of the Lost Coin.

8 Or what woman having ten coins* and losing one would not light a lamp and sweep the house, searching carefully until she finds it?
And when she does find it, she calls together her friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost.’
10 In just the same way, I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

I am in California teaching at a national quilt show. I’m rather honored because it’s a bit of a big deal. I am feeling really blessed for oh so many reasons. Good students, good weather, good friends.
This morning I am feeling blessed for another reason. Monday morning as I was getting ready to walk out the door to go to the airport I was going through my mental checklist and checked for my drivers license. It should have been in on of two places. It was in neither. Dumped my purse, not a pretty sight I assure you. Emptied the main compartment of my backpack. Prettier but not there. I checked my winter jacket, not there. I searched with what little time I had. Finally I grabbed my passport because it’s valid and I can use it for ID and left the house. I KNEW! that license had to be somewhere.

This morning I started to get a business card to get an email address to send someone a link, in I reach into that front pocket of the backpack and there it is! Let the Happy Dancing and Rejoicing commence! I have my license. I’ll admit to being so relieved the tears welled up in my eyes. There are a lot of things I don’t have to do when I get home…like replacing my drivers license and watching for any kind of identity theft.

I am also grateful today for the friendships here old and new. For students who teach me so much.

God bless!

Teri
