Perhaps it is good to start this post with a link to Miriam Ezagui on Instagram. Miriam is an Orthodox Jew who takes the time to explain the beauty of her faith, religion and religious practice. As a Catholic I appreciate her faith, and religious practice deeply and appreciate it for so many reasons. To … Continue reading Connection

In Between
"Jesus, I give you permission to interrupt my self defeating, God dethroning self talk. Amen." I found that quote somewhere, dropped it in here and thought, "I'll know both where it was from and what to share when I get back." It is Lent. I almost don't need to say more. Except that during Lent … Continue reading In Between
Oasis
While hauling around suitcases this week one of them jammed into my big toe, it's fine, it'll be fine. Central Texas got a little rain this week. As a general rule when I go for the mail I step on the berm adjacent to our front door, cross the street and walk to the mailbox. … Continue reading Oasis
Dignity, Vocation and a deeper understanding
On the wall in my living room is a framed poster of St. John Paul II, there are tickets to the Mass in Central Park and a t-shirt from being "ushers" in Yonkers. In the cabinet is a bottle of water blessed by him at St. Joseph Seminary in Yonkers. My husband saw the helicopter … Continue reading Dignity, Vocation and a deeper understanding
In Some Ways
I am often surprised how these posts take shape and how long they take to write. First please permit me to share the Hallow App: https://hallow.com/share/PUYFQJp I shared way back that Jen Fulwiler and a local friend introduced me to the app, offering a free trial. This has helped me hone my prayer life in … Continue reading In Some Ways

That we each think and act differently is both heartening and … Continue reading A Faith in Quilting Post
Resistance
Jesus restores the whole dignity that he thought with reverence because we're on holy ground here. This is what we're asking at this stage of the spiritual exercises, this kind of transformation. The courage, and I would say, the opportunity to bring our weakness, that part of ourselves, that weighs on us, that burden that … Continue reading Resistance
Flip the Script
quilted on a Handi Quilter Avante, thanks Lori! Did you know that I can literally flip the script? I can write backwards. I can also write with my non-dominant hand. It's not pretty but I can do it I can sign my name if necessary, somehow the script is better than printing. Go figure. The … Continue reading Flip the Script

Good God, it’s Friday!
Last night on our way to Church for the Mass of the Lord's supper I needed to stop by the front door as I realized as I climbed into the car that I'd left my phone, where my e-reader is, on the table. On the door handle is a package of Pirates Booty popcorn hanging … Continue reading Good God, it’s Friday!
