Alleluia!
Hallelujah!
Alleluia!
The Readings for Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday are longer, particularly the Gospel. Palm Sunday and Good Friday we actively, appropriately and rather uncomfortably participate in the Gospel reading. One thing I know about the Gospels, details are important.
Now in the place where he had been crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had yet been buried. So they laid Jesus there because of the Jewish preparation day; for the tomb was close by. – John 18
As I listened to Father proclaim the Gospel I heard these words especially. (above in Italics) a new tomb, in which no one had yet been buried. Engage pondering wonderment. A virginal tomb from which new life comes. A virginal tomb. Life is restored. Through Baptism, through entering into the waters of death our my is and is being restored to life, to original wholeness, completeness, perfection.
For the moment of Baptism through the tomb of Jesus, death is dealt a deathly blow. That moment in the garden where life enters into death; it is in another garden where death exits life. Yes, we still experience physical death, the heartrending departure of our soul from our body. This separation is temporary. Through Jesus death and resurrection we – through God’s incredible LOVE for us we are restored to life. The Creator of all does everything to bring us back to Himself.
Death is overcome.
From Virginal Womb to Virginal tomb Life is restored through every moment of his Life and Death and Resurrection. Showing us how to live. To Live. To LIVE.
Happy Feast of the Resurrection, Lord bring us to new life in You, through You.
