This is the moment

“Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created” Esther 4:14

So yeah. This verse came up in my fb newsfeed recently. Once upon a time there was a magazine entitled “The Quilt Life” the premise being that quilting and life are so intertwined that we lead a Quilt Life. Each day there is quilting in some way shape or form. Over the last five months I’ve quilted more than in the, at least, 18 months prior to that. I know that the grief and anxiety have made their way here, to this blog, to this space where faith, hope, mercy, and grace do their best to live. Quilting is like breathing to me, it’s a form of prayer and it’s a way of growing closer to God. I mentioned on TerifiCreations that I got into the Zone. Wow, have I missed that place.

When this verse showed up it spoke to my heart. I don’t understand why. There are so many possibilities. I’d love for this to be a Word of consolation. Perhaps a Word to hold onto through some challenging life moments. It’s been a really long time since I read anything on Esther, so I went over and blew through the book to catch the main points of the story. The cool thing is that she remained faithful, in spite of some pretty awful circumstances.

In the time mentioned I’ve had to put some long-held goals on hold. These were not easy decisions however, they were necessary. These goals are niggling at the edge of the quilt life, and while there is a deep uncertainty about pursuing them. Perhaps this is the moment I’m created for. We’ll see what happens, where God leads, how all of this comes together and works, or doesn’t.

This moment is a gift to cherish, ponder, treasure.
