Breathe

It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It’s Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only”It’s your breath in our lungs”

And that is the line that asks me to listen to the Word. God Breathed Life into Adam. Jesus Breathes on the Apostles. The Holy Spirit is the Breath of the Lord. Inhaling brings a rush of air into our lungs. This air is then transported into our blood stream giving much needed air to other parts of our bodies for good functioning. The other parts of our body give carbon dioxide back to the blood, which is then transferred into the lungs and exhaled. Over and over again, a life giving moment, a life giving movement, a life giving exchange.
We are asked over and over again to speak a Word that gives life. To be kind and caring. To be the oxygen that the other inhales. Giving Life is such a good thing. Breathe on me Breath of God so that I may praise you! Let me give back to you this gift that You’ve given me, to the fullest extent that I am able.

It’s Your Breath in our Lungs – it’s your spirit that gives us life.
It’s your Spirit that inspires our doing, our coming and our going.
It’s Your Breath that is our animation, our Source
It’s Your Breath in our Lungs
We pour out our praise.

My sweetie and I were talking the other day about life. You know those spousal talks where one is sobbing because frustration and fear have set in. (I’ll give you two guesses on that one) So one person may have admitted that the thought crossed their minds that giving up quilting might be a good idea.

We pour out our praise

That person knew that giving up quilting would be foolish.

It’s Your Breath in our Lungs

She knew that giving up quilting would be wrong.

We pour out our praise

Because quilting is praising God. Quilting is life-giving. It is no wonder that frustration sets in when no quilting and creativity are going on. It’s no wonder that fear gets a foothold and starts whispering things that are so sweet to listen to, but when they’re heard they are so damaging…things like “you’ll never be a good enough quilter” or “you’ll never win at that really big quilt show” or “no one will ever ask you to teach again” or “whatever”.

He said to her that he’d never let her give up quilting because it would kill her.

Praise God.

Off to do some quilting.

God bless,

Teri
