“Overwhelmed” Big Daddy Weave
I see the work of Your Hands
Galaxies spin in a Heavenly dance oh God
All that You are is so overwhelming
I hear the sound of Your Voice
All at once it’s a gentle and thundering noise oh God
All that You are is so overwhelming
I delight myself in You
Captivated by Your beauty
I’m overwhelmed, I’m overwhelmed by You
God, I run into Your arms
Unashamed because of mercy
I’m overwhelmed, I’m overwhelmed by You
I know the power of Your Cross
Forgiven and free forever You’ll be my God
All that You’ve done is so overwhelming
I delight myself in You
In the Glory of Your Presence
I’m overwhelmed, I’m overwhelmed by You
God, I run into Your arms
Unashamed because of mercy
I’m overwhelmed, I’m overwhelmed by You
You are Beautiful, You are Beautiful
Oh God, there is no one more Beautiful
You are Beautiful, God you are the most Beautiful
You are Wonderful, You are Wonderful
Oh God, there is no one more Wonderful
You are Wonderful, God You are the most Wonderful
You are Glorious, You are Glorious
Oh God, there is no one more Glorious
You are Glorious, God you are the most Glorious
I delight myself in you
Captivated by your beauty
I’m overwhelmed, I’m overwhelmed by you
This phrase going through my head over and over and over the last few days. It’s a delightful ear worm. Can you just imagine God, that Eternal Father, cradling us in his arms and singing this lullaby to us, to me. Singing to us, knowing our beauty and our depth and how we try so hard to Love Him when we don’t need to try so hard. God knows our imperfections – he gave them to us. God knows the things we will find most challenging. God knows where we’ll find beauty and how we’ll tap into his Divine Creation. He gave these gifts to us. All of the gifts – from the challenges to the great joys.
I’m not sure the writer intended this song to be perceived this way – as a love song from God, a word of encouragement from God to us. Doesn’t matter. I kind of hear this as a Psalm sung in choir – one lyric sung by us, one by God each one singing their best. If you’ve never heard a Psalm sung in choir with different sides of the congregation singing or male and female voices in turn it’s spectacularly beautiful.

it’s kind of like this quilt (hold loose there will be a photo of the front shortly)
Jeanie sang the first verse
I’m singing the second verse
hopefully the quilting will complement her verse – the full quilt top.

Quantum Leap is a strikingly beautiful quilt.
We both enter the Creative part of life in different ways.
I’m asking a serious question: Do you recognize that in quilt making we enter into that Divine Creativity? Is there some other way that you enter into that divine Creativity?
God bless!
