Lead me

Lead Me To The Cross  Hillsong United

Savior I come
Quiet my soul remember
Redemption’s hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost

[Chorus:]
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I
Tempted and trialed
Human
The word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you’re risen

Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost

[Chorus]

To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart

1361Sunrise and sunset are my favorite times of day. I am much more likely to see the sunset as morning is Not my time of day. Uh no. I do a lot in the mornings but my brain really starts engaging sometime around noon and I can go til late.
This photo is one of my all time favorite sunsets. My sweetie and I were on our way home driving along I-84 and stopped at a rest area for me to take photos. As it happens the light changed quickly and  subtlety. Not long after this it was night and I mean dark because we were in the middle of nowhere. Or as a friend describes it, the beginning of the middle of nowhere.
There is a richness and depth to these times of day that speak to my heart. They are vibrant and energetic. Sunrise and sunset are the time of day when I can or will pause to reflect and seek the quiet that I need. These are the moments when my mind will settle and I can listen and be prepared for the next part of the day whatever it brings. The last few years have had some ups and downs that have caused me to pause, think, reflect, wonder. There have been some very challenging times, moments of great doubt.

These are moments that are just part of life. Interspersed have been these glorious sunrises and sunsets that have served as reminders of God’s love. Reminders that I’ve needed, whispering to my heart, “I’m here, see” or “Look at this beauty” or . . . . “this is just temporary, trust me, I’m leading”.

When we quilt there are often some frustrating and downright difficult moments. Those moments are the moments of the greatest growth. Those are the moments where we learn the most. Where we’re the most open to “getting it” because we’re open to more solutions and figuring out potential possibilities. And then we’re rewarded with a quilt that’s better than we’ve ever done.

When I worked on “When Alex & Jinny met in NY, Beauty Happened” I had some seriously frustrating moments. Like I was ready to toss the whole thing in the trash and just walk away from paper piecing. Cutting the wrong thing, not “getting” how the process worked. It took a lot of going back and the end results were worth it for me. Not just in winning a ribbon but in getting it done and learning.
I love quilting and the life lessons, faith lessons that come from it.

God bless!

Teri
