“That is why artists, the more conscious they are of their “gift”, are led all the more to see themselves and the whole of creation with eyes able to contemplate and give thanks, and to raise to God a hymn of praise. This is the only way for them to come to a full understanding of themselves, their vocation and their mission.”
St. John Paul II Letter to Artists, 1999
I love Elizabeth Gilbert’s TED Talk on Creative Genius. This has always led to a deep sense of tapping into the creative-ness of God, our Loving Father.
While watching the Canonizations yesterday I stumbled upon JPII’s Letter to Artists and started reading. The goal: read by the end of the day. Mmmm I read for a while then went to the quilting room and got busy. By the end of last night I completed this much of Chocolate Swirl. I do not know where this is going yet. All I can say is that it is a gift.
God bless!
Teri
God has given us the capability to create so many things. I marvel at all your quilting. I marvel at all the colors of green in this world. And above all the gift He gave to create bodies for His souls on this earth! He is so gracious to allow us to participate in a small way in His creation Terri always provoke thoughts of gratitude in me Thanks
