Autumn is my favorite

But please don’t tell the others.

When asked, “How are you?”

And I respond, “Better now that you’re here!” It is a truth the depths of which are difficult to explain.

When the sun rises on a clear day all magenta, all by herself it is a moment of joy that I cannot explain.

When I teach quilters and I see this look on their faces that they are “getting it” there are three things I see
1) that the quilter is relaxing into the process – this is the BEST
2) that the quilter is getting what I’m sharing with them – I’m communicating well
3) they are becoming the quilter they are intended to be – not becoming a “mini-me”

I am truly grateful for friends who will help me get grounded when things go wonky. Something went unexpectedly wonky; this friend allowed me to get the frustration out and come into a place where I could communicate with those I needed to communicate with in a really good way. I shared this with my Sweetie and from the look on his face this is good. (I can do this)

Rhythm in Blue Jeans

I am grateful for the Scripture Scholar who is teaching with me through On the Dignity and Vocation of Woman at our parish. I have struggled of late with feeling like I’m understood, teaching and communicating effectively. This is something of longtime experience and one that has been wholly uncomfortable. It’s painful when I *know* this and continue to get to *know* it more deeply in my heart (intellect, will, emotions) and struggle to teach with clarity.

I went for very specific prayer at a local parish last week and something has shifted. I heard something different in presentation and in the offering what I know. One thing I do know is that seeing the fruit of prayer doesn’t always happen with immediate effect, so this immediate fruit is unexpected and good.

Rhythm in Blue Jeans – a beginning

I’ve shared that prayer has be in a moment of shifting for me. The Wind of prompting started blowing probably a year ago. Over the summer the prompting led to Liturgy of the Hours. I’ve prayed with Liturgy of the Hours on/off since returning to the Church way back in the 1990’s. What I’m appreciating now is both the rhythm of daily prayer and that this answers the call to pray without ceasing. I’m praying Office of Readings and Morning Prayer, at some point I’ll add Evening Prayer. There is something beautiful about entering into the Official Prayer of the Church through the Psalms and other Scriptural readings, getting to know the story of our Faith, letting it water my weary soul, letting it form holes in me to water others is such a good thing.
